Meet Our Pastor

We welcome to Sandtown our new pastor, Rev. Hal Hall. Bro. Hal Hall is a native of Starkville where he is a graduate of Starkville Academy and Mississippi State University. While a student at MSU, Bro. Hal had an athletic scholarship as an athletic trainer. He worked for and traveled with the football team and also took care of other sports. In answering the call to ministry, Bro. Hal gave up his scholarship and took a position as the youth and music director at Jumpertown United Methodist Church just north of Tupelo in Prentiss county.


Brother Hal did his seminary training and recieved his Master of Divinity from Asbury Theological Seminary in Wilmore, KY. He is also a graduate of the Beeson Institute for Advanced Church Leadership, a three year intensive training institute through Asbury Seminary. 


Bro. Hal has served Jumpertown UMC as youth/music director, and Salem UMC in Conyers, GA as the Assciate and Youth Pastor. He has served as pastor of New Hope UMC in Columbus, associate pastor of FUMC of Clinton, pastor of Springfield UMC in Springfield, KY, was a church planter for The Wesleyan Church in Madison, MS has served as pastor of FUMC of Durant, FUMC of Coffeeville, FUMC of Southhaven, and Maples Memorial UMC of Olive Branch. 


Bro. Hal is married to his best friend, Renee', who is a native of Biloxi, MS. Together they have 4 children: Haleigh (pronounced Hal-Lee) (16) who will be a junior at Madison Ridgeland Academy this fall, Lillie Beth (12) who will be entering the 8th grade in the fall also at MRA, Haley Brown (28) of Los Angels, CA and Austin Brown (26) who is recent graduate of Florida State University. Renee' has a wide range of work experience. She has been a cruise director, a flight attendant, a District Sales Manager for Avon, small business owner (she owned Curves for Women in Senatobia and Hattiesburg). She is currently Beauty Consultant/Manager at Walgreens in Southhaven (They are praying this position turns into a regional position in the next few months). Hal and Renee' are excited about being at Sandtown and are looking forward to what God has in store for our future!
